Color coated steel plate generally refers to the product made by treating the surface of substrate and laying (by roller) or bond organic thin film and baking, which can be made into final products by deep processing. It is called "pre-coated steel plate" abroad. Since the product is provided with beautiful color or pattern when it is delivered, it is also called "Prepainted Galvanized Steel Coil". The name of color coated steel plate is more popular in China, which is called "color coated plate" or "color plate" for short.

Aluminized zinc plate refers to the steel plate coating added with aluminum (passivation protection) on the basis of zinc. The general composition is 55% aluminum, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicon. It has excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance, which is 2-4 times that of galvanized plate. It also has the high-temperature corrosion resistance of aluminum plate, smooth surface and good appearance, but the forming and welding resistance of its coating are slightly poor. In foreign countries, about 40% of the aluminum zinc plating is directly used, and about 60% of the plates are further used as color coated substrates.

Galvanized sheet refers to a steel plate coated with a layer of zinc on its surface, commonly known as "white iron sheet" in China. It is most widely used in construction and has been widely used in the construction industry before being used as a color coated substrate. Its surface state of the coating is cast state, with uniform and bright zinc flakes on the surface (in automotive and home appliance galvanizing, there is a preference for rough surface without zinc flakes), and there are various surface states.
